Czech Twinning Trip

A visit to our Czech twinning partners in Otrocineves has been arranged over the weekend 10th to 13th June. We expect to arrive late on Thursday evening and a full programme of events has been arranged by our hosts. It will include a visit to Prague castle (organised by Senator Jiri so we will see parts of the castle not normally seen by tourists), lunch at the Senate, a hike in the stunning Czech countryside, visits to museums/churches/fortresses as well as evening events such as a barbecue, a visit to a traditional Czech pub and a farewell party on the Sunday - possibly with the new Irish ambassador. Of course it is possible for participants to extend their trip outside of these dates.
The trip is open to everyone in the area and, indeed, our Czech friends would like to see some new faces amongst the travellers. For further information contact Brendan at 0404-45167.

Sponsored Walk

The annual sponsored walk in aid of school funds will take place once again on the day of the Easter holidays, Friday 26th March (weather permitting). We sincerely appreciate the support over the years from the children, their extended families and the wider community for this fundraising event. Some of the funds raised this year will go towards the book rental scheme and IT equipment for the classrooms. After our walk around Glendalough the Parents' Committee will treat all weary walkers to an Easter egg while the adults can enjoy the tea and coffee kindly sponsored by The Glendalough Hotel.
Equinox Adventure
On Sunday 21st March a group of 30, including 20 pupils, climbed up through the woods to the Gossan Stones on Paddock Hill for the Equinox Sunrise. As it rises over The Devil's Glen the sun's rays fall directly between the two stones. It was majestic to see and enjoyed by all - we even celebrated a birthday with cake and candles on the hill. Happy Birthday, Keane - a memorable experience on becoming a teenager!
First Confessions
Rang 2 are preparing for their upcoming First Communion in May and on Thursday 11th March in St. Kevin's Parish Church, they celebrated their First Confession with lots of guidance from their parents, Múinteoir Rosemary and Fr. Oliver.
Doodle for Google
We were delighted that Indi St. Clair Kenny's (Rang 1) Doodle made it through to the last 80 entries of this competition. Perhaps you saw his photograph in the Wicklow people. Thank you to all who voted and supported Indi.
Arklow Music Festival
The school was very well represented at the competition again this year. The standard was extremely high and we are delighted to have such a wonderful array of awards. Well done to everyone who participated and helped with the practising, especially Karen Carter.
