Sponsored Walk

Our recent sponsored walk was a great success. Many thanks to everyone who supported the walk. Over €4,000 was raised. Thanks also to the Glendalough Hotel who gave us a warm reception and to the Parents’ Association for its help in organising the walk and for treating each pupil to an early Easter egg.

GAA Girls
Congratulations to Heather Cullen and Katie Miley who qualified in their section of a Cumann na mBunscol Gaelic football skills competition. We wish them luck in the final.

125 years of GAA
To celebrate 125 years of the GAA we headed to the pitch for a football blitz. After a morning of matches we returned to the school where the winning teams were presented with medals from none other than Mick O’Dwyer.

Work Experience
Transition year students Noel Cross and Sarah Miley joined us for work experience. Their help and efforts were much appreciated. We hope that they found their time with us beneficial.

Native American Visitors
We were delighted to have a visit from a group of Native Americans. Everyone had a wonderful time learning about the visitors’ rich culture and joining in with their drumming, singing and dancing. We even created a fusion of music with our own bodhrán and the Native American drum.

Garden
With the arrival of spring we have taken the classroom outdoors. The children have been busy planting and sowing in the school garden.

Water Saving Tip
All are making an effort to save water as part of our ‘Green School’ water theme. We would like to share our water saving tips with the community so we will be publishing a tip in each newsletter.
